Click here to register for my upcoming 8-Week ONLINE Mindful Self-Compassion course, June-July 2022.

Welcome.

I am a compassion-focused psychotherapist and mindfulness teacher based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. I offer in-person and online classes and individual psychotherapy and am deeply committed to the belief that all of us have what we need within us to heal. I use the wisdom of the mind, body and heart to uncover lost resources and develop new strategies to live with a heart more open and engaged in the present moment. In order to do this work, I draw upon key elements from attachment theory to guide me in this work and use somatic therapy and mindfulness based techniques, including Mindful Self-Compassion, to teach clients to become curious about the ways in which their minds and bodies respond to life experiences, even when the threat of danger or disconnection has long since passed.

As an EMDRIA Certified EMDR Psychotherapy Clinician, I believe that our suffering stems from a struggle to incorporate difficult or traumatic experiences into the present moment. From our earliest relationships, we develop an internal working model, a roadmap that helps us find our way in the world. When we experience hardship, we acquire new ways of thinking and coping to adjust to these challenges and in the process, develop an internal roadmap that can be difficult to maneuver.

My
private practice is located in the Merriam Park neighborhood of Saint Paul, Minnesota. This location is conveniently located between downtown Minneapolis and downtown Saint Paul, just off Highway 94.

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an empirically-supported, 8-week training program designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion. Based on the groundbreaking research of Dr. Kristin Neff (see Ted Talk, above) and the clinical expertise of Dr. Christopher Germer, MSC teaches core principles and practices that enable participants to respond to difficult moments in their lives with kindness, care, and understanding.
